Christine Parker was raised in Southern California and began playing piano at the early age of 4 when her parents noticed her affinity for all things music. She fell in love with songwriting as a teenager after composing her first song on the guitar, and continued to write and play music as she pursued education and a career in psychology.
After realizing music and songwriting needed to become more center stage, Parker began playing venues while living in the Midwest. Drawing on such musical influences as Colbie Caillat, Ingrid Michaelson, and Brandi Carlile, Parker won over crowds with her pure and soulful vocals and engaging lyrics. Her self-released debut EP, “The Journey Home,” was released in January 2012. Parker relocated back to Southern California in 2013 to focus on her music career, and the result was a full-length studio album, “Looking Glass,” produced by Marti Amado, released in October, 2013.
Since then, Parker has focused heavily on songwriting and performing while also releasing a series of singles and live music videos. Her songwriting has also earned her several placements with various companies and TV networks including TLC, HBO, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Mitsubishi Taiwan. In 2015, Parker also landed an endorsement with Breedlove Guitars.
Parker kicked off 2016 with a 3-week tour from San Diego to Seattle performing at various venues and house concerts up the West Coast. She also spent 5 weeks in the UK creating a travel-based music video series entitled “The Chapel Sessions.” Teaming up with Breedlove Guitars and AEA Ribbon Microphones, Parker produced and filmed recording sessions in centuries-old English churches using a single ribbon microphone and a GoPro. Later in the year, Parker ran a successful Kickstarter campaign to fund “Between You & Me,” her 3rd album release. Working with Austin-based producer Masen Larsen, the 5-song EP hit the airwaves and was added into rotation at over 100 radio stations in the US and Canada. The EP also debuted on a Top 30 chart, where it peaked at the #28 spot. The San Diego Troubadour notes, "The entire disc shows Christine Parker’s developing talent and is a great listen."
The start of 2017 has already brought recognition for the "Between You & Me" release. Parker was a finalist in the International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA) for the category "Best Female Artist" with her song "Shine." Parker was also award 2nd place for her song "When I'm With You" in the San Diego Songwriters Guild (SDSG) annual song contest. Stay tuned for new music, projects, and travels on the horizon...
