Have you ever asked a small child what they wanted to be when they grew up? You'll get the regular answers (firefighter, policeman, basketball player), but Jason DeBerry's answer was always "praise and worship leader." DeBerry has been raised in church and was engulfed in music from birth. His dad being a musician and mom being a singer, DeBerry was never far away from musical talent. The younger years of DeBerry's life involved sitting on the back of a church platform with an unplugged bass guitar, eagerly watching his father play along to the music.
In his teenage years, DeBerry began exploring other instruments. He began to teach himself drums, acoustic guitar and keyboard. Being well versed in many styles and instruments got DeBerry called up to "the big leagues" and began to shine on stage. It wasn't until he joined the band program at his local school that DeBerry was completely enamored with a particular style of music: jazz. Once he started playing drum set for his middle school and high school jazz orchestra, DeBerry's musical career set flight. He received numerous outstanding awards, endorsed accreditation and opportunities to perform with big names in the jazz scene. DeBerry's spare time was spent practicing guitar and leading praise and worship at his home church in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
After high school, DeBerry was accepted into the Music Education program at Arkansas State University where his opportunities to perform and teach grew. At his time in Arkansas, DeBerry filled the roles of Drumline Instructor at a local high school and staff musician for Jonesboro First United Methodist Church.
DeBerry now calls Poplar Bluff, Mo home with his wife (Ashley) and son (Abrahm Reid). He serves as music director and guitar player for Palace Worship and worship leader for Next Level Student Ministries at the Palace of Praise. DeBerry also fills his free time in studio tracking various instruments for artist projects and training local church audio engineers.

"After receiving my Breedlove Discovery Concert CE I was automatically blown away. the gloss finish on the body is beautiful and the matte Nato wood neck is comfortable and easy to play. The sound is very expressive and has a lot of room for tone shaping, depending on the players style and intent. Breedlove's tuners are solid and keep the guitar in tune just fine. The Fishman ISYS-T system installed on this model is exceptional. It allows for easy functionality (only two tone-shaping push buttons), a volume knob and built-in tuner. The output volume and sound reproduction is also exceptional. This guitar wins in all three categories: aesthetics, feel and sound production." - Jason
