Born and raised in Garland TX Mikey Gattus grew up on the drum set. He started gigging early on in life playing drums for a local upcoming rock back in Dallas called Dear Employment. His first performance was back in 2003 @ his junior high school dance. Then in 2004 at the age of 14 he was starting to gig on a consistent basis all over the metro-plex. Over the years Mikey continued to play drums but also picked up the guitar, piano, organ, accordion and mandolin along the way. From then on Mikey has started to play with a number of different acts touring all over Texas and different parts of the country.
Since Mikey's first performance in 2004 he has played with many different groups and opened up for artists such as Matt White, SleeperStar, Jillian Edwards, Roger Creager, Del Castillo, The Secret Handshake, Jack Ingram, Kevin Fowler, Chris Rice, Fiction Plane, Aaron Watson, Mike Studd, Chiddy Bang, Bart Crow, and many others. Along with playing shows Mikey has been blessed with the opportunity to write and record his own music while releasing a couple of records with some of the groups he has played with. Mikey loves to fill in with new bands and plays between 2-6 shows every week. In his free time he works as a Producer at Fame Starts Here Productions doing what ever he can to help local artists get great sounding recordings without costing them an arm and a leg.
Now a days Mikey plays for the upcoming Texas Country Band Sam Riggs and the Night People who have just had there first single hit #40 on the Texas Music Charts and continues to rise. Mikey also plays and writes for Larynx Music out of College Station TX who have taken the college music scene by storm. On top of playing for these two incredibly talented groups Mikey continually picks up gigs in his free time playing for various artists as the Taylor Hodak Band, Shane Smith & the Saints, Taylor Powell, Marcus Woolverton and a number of other artists.
Mikey hopes to continue bringing new music to the world and to keep furthering his career as a musician.
