Northwest Classic Guitars

From the forests of the Pacific Northwest emerges the exquisite Northwest Classic.  Using the indigenous woods of Sitka Spruce for the top and Myrtlewood for the back and sides, the skilled craftsmen of Breedlove Guitars have created an instrument that exhibits both the creamy bass of Rosewood and the ringing treble of Maple.  With inlays inspired by the tribal totems of the Northwest, this guitar is extremely versatile and has quickly become Breedlove’s most popular Master Class model.  The Grand Concert shape has a soft cutaway, all bound with the Master Class Walnut binding package.  The rosette is Abalone and the fingerboard, headstock, and bridge are all made from Ebony.  As soon as you touch this instrument you can tell it is something special.  It truly shows the pride of the luthiers and the area where these guitars are born.

"I have loved your guitars ever since I can remember. I toured your factory once, and I still remember it - was a visit to a magical place being a guitar player and woodworker. I am playing more finger style now so I bought an Master Class from Apple Music in Portland. I now have it at home, and I have picked it up at least four different times today to play it. Simply amazing, although in many ways there is nothing simple about it. The more I play it, the more my amazement of how fine an instrument I have chosen. I am hopelessly spoiled! I am in awe.

I bought this at an extreme discount which is the only reason I took a chance on it. I did do a little research on Myrtlewood as it is not a popular tone wood. Everyone said it was like Koa or Maple with more of a bottom end. It does have a creamy bass, not boomy at all. The highs ring out and sometimes too much when strumming. This is a great sounding fingerstyle guitar. The neck width is perfect for me. It has the sweetest sound of any guitar I've ever had. The Myrtlewood figuring is awesome. When you buy a guitar sight unseen you hope for the best and I got the best. The action is a just a tad high for me, but not too high where I can't play it. I'm very pleased with this guitar. Besides the wood, the other appointments like the totem inlays, spoked sound hole inlay, neck binding, and ebonized tuners just make the guitar all that more special. This is a custom shop guitar and the build quality is spot on. I have the Breedlove Revival OOO-R Deluxe too and I have to say the Breedlove custom shop guitars are just fabulous.
