Breedlove recently caught up with Scott Foxx from Burnin’ Moonlight. Originating in Bend, OR Scott Foxx, Maggie Jackson, and Jim Roy show their love for music with diverse musical backgrounds. This acoustic trio shifts smoothly between spirited traditional bluegrass, rootsy folk, a little country, swing, and some London blues! Burnin’ Moonlight recently opened for Clint Black at the Tower Theatre here in Bend, OR. They also have traveled west to Portland to play in the Eastside Bluegrass Series. One of their most exciting experiences they will partake in this summer is The National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest and Festival in Weiser, Idaho! Burnin’ Moonlight will be closing the stage Friday night, June 26th, and playing in town on one of the stages Thursday June 25th from 6-7pm. Scott will also be teaching a guitar flatpicking workshop on his Breedlove Pro Series D 25 at the Weiser contest! The band will be finishing up their CD and are hoping to have it ready for Weiser. Since the release of their EP last spring they have been tirelessly working on the new album, set to drop July 7, 2015. “The Album, Living Free, was an absolute joy to work on. Ever since we released our Debut EP last spring we have been working towards this point. We busted our backs all year, touring, playing out, saving every dollar so that we could have the opportunity to get a top quality professional record out there and we all think we accomplished that goal. In a recent post from Acoustic Guitar, Ed Gerhard was featured in a guitar session.  Ed Gerhard is known as a fingerstyling and lap steel master who has developed a big following for the last 4 decades all over the world. His solo instrumental performances and CDs have been known to captivate his audiences. Gerhard describes his adaptations and evolution of his music as a result from small and various epiphanies, which he describes as different things and the way they speak to you. Poetry has been a way were his mind is free and Zen. Ed Gerhard played Imagine, a soft and gentle acoustic John Lennon cover on his Breedlove Revival Series Dreadnought. Ed was interested in the Breedlove Revival Dread for the studio, but he was not expecting to love it as much as he does now. Ashley McMillen debuted her “Coming Through” music video a couple months back. This beautiful song was written by McMillen herself and features tales of heartbreak and hardships. Ashley McMillen is a West Virginia native who has worked her way up in the Nashville scene. McMillen made a tough move to Nashville last September. Although she feels being in Nashville is better for her career, she says: “My band is like family to me, and they’re still in Central Virginia.” The move has paid off; Ashley has become a popular headliner in the Nashville music scene. With her traditional country music feel Ashley has a fan base growing more everyday. Ashley hopes to absorb lessons from other musicians, excel in songwriting, and perform in great venues while coming through to her new Nashville role. “Coming Through” was written to inspire success within herself, despite heartbreak.
