Jon Micah Sumrall Releases Solo Album

Kutless' co-founder and frontman Jon Micah Sumrall has announced a personal side project, Faith & Family, that was released on BEC Recordings on February 24.  "This project has been a long time coming for me as writing is a form of expression where I can explain my feelings and what I'm thinking," shares Jon Micah Sumrall. "Over the years as we've written for Kutless albums, most of these personal songs just didn't fit what we were looking for so these particular songs began piling up. I’m excited to share these songs with everyone as they are a window into my heart and a reflection of who I am.” Faith & Family features a more mellow vibe than what Kutless fans have come to know and expect from the band. Jon Micah approached this album very differently with no rules and many acoustic elements. Some of the songs have been written years ago - such as a song he wrote for is wife on their wedding day, which was more than 13 years ago. Breedlove Features Signature Artist Mike Rogers Singer-songwriter and guitar player for Craig Morgan talks exclusively to Breedlove.   Twenty-five years ago Mike Rogers was in high school in Myrtle Beach, SC, playing drums in a band called “Perfect Tommy.”  Now as a regular on the Grand Ole Opry stage playing with Craig Morgan he still remembers the first time he played there on April 15, 2002.  Mike is an accomplished songwriter and multi-instrumentalist.  Breedlove: You’ve had such a wide variety of experiences – what stands out to you? To celebrate their upcoming record release, The Weather Machine just unveiled a psychedelic lyric video and song – and the wait seems well worth it. “As Long As We Get Along” is the first studio performance to encapsulate the band’s wild, tongue-and-cheek, heart-on-your-sleeve attitude. This is The Weather Machine’s first release since Dec. 2012, when they debuted their b-side “Slow Dance Slow” in collaboration with Portland label Tender Loving Empire.  The new album, entitled “Peach,” drops March 24th, but will also be available at Mississippi Studios during The Weather Machine’s March 19th release show with local rockers Tango Alpha Tango and Eugene-based wiz kids Human Ottoman.
