Breedlove Passport Tuner VTC Preamp

Overview

Certain Breedlove Passport models are set up to be electro-acoustic and are equipped with the proprietary VTC preamp, which is a pickup and a preamp for amplification. The pickup is held in place by the saddle and should not be adjusted. The pickup is located under the saddle; if all of the strings are removed the saddle may come loose.

The Preamp system contains a tuner, 2 tone adjustments, and a volume knob.

Tone:
The slider controls marked LOW, and HIGH set the tone of the pre-amp. The LOW filters are designed to boost or cut the low frequencies over a broad range. The HIGH filters will adjust the upper (higher) frequency ranges.

Volume:
The rotary control, marked Volume adjusts the levels of the preamp output.

Low Battery:
The red battery light turns on when the battery is low and needs to be replaced. If you are not going to be playing your guitar for extended periods of time please remove the battery from the pre-amp.

Tuner:
Turn the tuner on by pushing the button, this activates the chromatic tuner and at the same time mutes the sound so that the guitar is not amplified while you tune. When the tuner is on but the guitar is not being played the tuner LED light will be off. When a string is plucked the screen will light up, and a set of arrows will direct the note to the correct pitch. Once the guitar is tuned, turn off the tuner to initiate the sound.

Output jack:
The Passport series instruments are outfitted with a ¼” jack for connection to most standard amplifiers.
