Pursuit Concerto Koa Koa Review

Pursuit Concerto Koa Koa Review

For the last 25 years Breedlove, an acoustic guitar manufacturer from Bend, Oregon, has steadily built a reputation with dealers and musicians for making award-winning stringed instruments. Their latest addition is no exception. The new, limited edition Pursuit Concert Koa has received raving reviews ever since its debut at the 2016 Winter NAMM Show, and deservingly so. This guitar is for musicians seeking a high-quality, reliable instrument that not only has delicious tone acoustically and while plugged in, but also looks like an elegant piece of art (and won’t break the bank!). The Koa top, back, and sides are stunningly beautiful. More importantly, the solid top and unique truss support system guarantee a guitar that will last a lifetime with tone that improves through the years. Verdict It appears Breedlove held nothing back on the Pursuit Concert Koa. Based on its looks, sound, and quality, it’s ready for the stage right out of the box! While other manufactures are producing four-thousand-dollar acoustic guitars made from...

Pursuit Concert Ebony Review

Pursuit Concert Ebony Review

Breedlove hit a home run with their Pursuit Concert Ebony model acoustic guitar, which won a well-deserved “Best of NAMM” award in 2014. Listed as a “gotta stock” for music instrument retailers, the Pursuit Concert Ebony is an affordably priced acoustic guitar that has the look and feel of more expensive models and brands, but at a fraction of the price. The Pursuit Concert Ebony is their bestselling body style to date, and was designed after the original Breedlove body shape, which debuted in 1992. And understandably so: It’s a well-balanced and compact acoustic guitar. Fingerstylists or vocalists looking for an accompanying guitar will find the body shape comfortable – whether sitting or standing wearing a strap.

Premier Guitar Concerto Review & Award

Premier Guitar Concerto Review & Award

By Adam Perlmutter | May 01, 2017 The first thing I noticed about the Breedlove Premier Concerto is how eminently playable it is. The neck is shallow, in a very good way, and it’s easy to play complex chord progressions and fast single-note runs, and to bend strings. And though the nut is a wide 1.75”—the specification preferred by most fingerstyle players—it feels almost like playing a nice electric guitar. It sounds terrific, too: airy and resonant, with a cello-like richness on the low notes, not to mention a shimmering natural reverb. I’ve only played a few minutes—heck, I’m just two paragraphs into this review—and already I can tell that Breedlove, a company known for consistently refining its designs, has produced another winner. High Profiling The Premier is based on Breedlove’s Concerto body, which is 5” deep at the end block and 16” wide at the lower bout. The dimensions are engineered to deliver the booming sound of a dreadnought without sacrificing comfort. And,...

Acoustic Guitar Reviews the New Oregon Concerto E Myrtlewood - Myrtlewood Acoustic Guitar

Acoustic Guitar Reviews the New Oregon Concerto E Myrtlewood - Myrtlewood Acoustic Guitar

This review was created by the folks over at Acoustic Guitar magazine. They created a fantastic video to accompany this review, we encourage you to view it here. From the April 2017 issue of Acoustic Guitar | BY GREG CAHILL With the recent introduction of the all-myrtlewood Breedlove Concerto, the Oregon-based guitar company became the first large-scale US manufacturer to incorporate this intriguing tonewood in a production line of instruments. But the Concerto also is distinctive for another reason: Breedlove owner Tom Bedell and his team of guitar designers have created a new body shape—which tapers from an impressive five inches deep at the endpin to just under four inches at the joint of the hard-rock maple neck—that produces a big, beautiful sound when coupled with all of that cool, coastal myrtlewood and the company’s computer-aided sound profiling. The result is impressive, given the complexity of the Concerto’s tone. “Two years ago, we began the journey of designing a new guitar body shape that...
