Custom “SNAPSHOT” Guitars

SNAPSHOT BREEDLOVE CUSTOMS_3The “SNAPSHOT” Custom Guitars Story:

“I have been a commercial photographer for the past 35 years.  In 2007 I purchased a Harley Davidson and joined the Harley Owners Group. Everyone had a road name that you put on the back of your vest. Well, because I was a photographer my road name became Snapshot. After many years of enjoyable riding I sold my bike.  Prior to working at Custom Shop Guitars, I worked for a few years at another guitar store.  There was more than one Rick working there so I went by Snapshot. It was easier for the customers to identify which Rick they were talking about and due to the fact that it was a commission job I didn’t lose any sales.  I started playing live and my road name has transferred to my stage name, hence the name Snapshot” – Rick

Custom Dreadnought Guitar:

About the Dreadnought Shape: The Breedlove Dreadnought is slightly more rounded than traditional dreadnoughts, producing beautifully full, punchy, and articulate tones. The Dreadnought appeals to players inspired by the familiarity of a dreadnought, who are looking for nuance and richness from their instrument. The Breedlove Dreadnought projects well, so it excels in an ensemble, and yet retains the refinement needed for vocal accompaniment. Sitka Spruce Top: Sitka spruce is grown in the northwest, and has been the primary top wood for U.S.A. instruments for many decades. It is strong, light, and gives an extended harmonic content and nearly equals the power of Adirondack. Learn more about Sitka spruce.

Cocobolo Back and Sides: Provides well-balanced tone with power, sustain and volume. Responsive, with clear, slow-decaying harmonics and a well-articulated and complex low end. Similar to Brazilian rosewood with a little less bass and more pronounced treble. Learn more about Cocobolo.

About the Jumbo Body Shape: The Breedlove Jumbo is our largest body shape by volume. Playing the Jumbo is a powerful experience: Sound feels sonically propelled by the movement of so much air inside the body. It’s the perfect shape for conveying big, beautiful chords across all six strings – a strummer’s paradise. The Breedlove Jumbo is also an excellent platform for 12-string guitars. Quilted Western Bigleaf Maple: Western big leaf maple is great for standing out among other instruments. With a powerful fundamental and even harmonics, it is clear and present, but without pronounced peaks and valleys in the harmonic content. It’s a great top wood for strumming and is often used on big-bodied guitars. Learn more about maple.
