Breedlove Craftsman Jake Spece Rocks The Local music scene

Breedlove craftsman Jake Spece is kind of a big deal in Bend, Oregon. Well, he is this week anyway. The June 20 issue of The Source Weekly features Spece on the cover, tearing it up on lead guitar. Why? Jake and his band, The Kronk Men, played an epic show last Friday at one of Bend's favorite music venues: the Horned Hand. Sadly, the funky punk-meets-honkeytonk dive bar is closing its doors forever on the 29th of June, partially due to noise complaints.

The Kronk Men played a rambunctious 15-song set that wrapped up around 1:00 a.m. Spece characterized the set as, “very wild, visceral, and LOUD,” which is appropriate considering the three-piece power trio was voted loudest band in Bend (take that cranky neighbors).

The Horned Hand may be going loudly into the night, but keep an eye out for The Kronk Men's forthcoming six-song EP.

And if you missed the Friday night action, you can still catch The Kronk Men at the Horned Hand's last and final show on June 29th. Make some noise, boys.
