Guitar Showcase's Jack Van Breen sits in with folk singer/songwriter Jay Howlett.
Jay Howlett is an award winning singer/songwriter with a powerful baritone voice and talent for storytelling. An accomplished performer with a degree in theatre, Jay writes simple honest songs about life in and around America and the experiences that bring us together and tear us apart. You could call him a troubadour; a storyteller or a performing songwriter, what ever he is Jay continuously engages his audiences.
Jay’s been invited to play at folk festivals from Sisters, Oregon to Oakland Park, Florida from Park City, Utah to Kerrville, TX. Always in the middle of confusion and controversy Jay has played at two clothing optional resorts where he did not remove any clothing (while performing anyhow).
Tom Semioli of Minor 7th Webzine says: “With lyrics made all the more powerful by rootsy, spare arrangements, Howlett's collection is essential listening for fans of Bruce Cockburn, John Prine, Louden Wainwright III and solo Bruce Springsteen.”
Jay is an endorsing artist, a dealer and authority on Breedlove guitars.
