Amos Joannides grew up in the country southeast of Montreal. Living far from his closest neighbors, he was forced to make his own entertainment. Even his early years were musical – playing guitar at five and taking private lessons from the age of seven. As a teenage, he performed in musical theatre productions such as ''Jesus Christ Superstar,'' and ''Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,''making friends and developing his talent. After high school, he traveled the world picking grapes near Paris, playing music on a boat off Corsica, studying Kung Fu and Tai Chi in Viet Nam, returning to Montreal, and finally traveling to Florida where he hooked up with a fellow traveler and music producer.
The influences of flamenco and rumba took Amos on a different sort of odyssey as his musicianship, confidence and stage presence grew throughout a five-year journey of performances and practice throughout Florida. On his return to Montreal, Amos brought his years of travel and experience to light with the production of '' My Name is Amos,'' his first CD.
