Sustainable & Clear Cut Free
Made from sustainably-sourced exotic and native tonewoods. No clear-cut trees are used in these instruments. Breedlove uses salvaged and individually harvested timber and has deep relationships with responsible suppliers around the globe. As we move towards sustainability across all lines, owner Tom Bedell has visited 15 countries to discover exactly where the wood comes from, how it is selected and harvested, and how this affects the wildlife, the community, the forest and the planet.
Real Solid Tonewoods for Superior Sound
No Richlite or resin impregnated softwoods, no glue-heavy plywoods: just solid real tonewoods for real tone.
Fishman Electronics
Side-mounted Fishman Flex Plus-T electronics with volume, treble, bass, and phase controls, plus on onboard tuner. For detailed information on the electronic, please reference the Fishman user manual.
European Spruce
As a guitar top, European spruce is powerful like Adirondack, clear like Sitka, and complex and responsive like Engelmann, all of which are employed in various Breedlove guitar lines. With the Organic Pro Collection years in the making, Breedlove owner Tom Bedell literally climbed a mountain to be positive that the exotic FSC-certified tonewoods used in the assortment are harvested in responsible ways that respect the earth, while providing for superior tone that will last a lifetime. High in the windblown Swiss Alps, Bedell watched as European spruce trees were individually selected—each yielding many dozens of top sets—with an eye towards keeping the old growth stands robust for decades to come.
African Mahogany
Sometimes called khaya, African mahogany has a familiar crisp, clean and warm voice and boasts an impressive versatility, taking well to fingerpicking as well as to a more robust strumming attack without losing clarity. All mahogany instruments—like the Organic Collection Wildwood Series (which features sustainably harvested wood source from the Republic of Congo) offer a natural compression that delights blues players, folkies and singer/songwriters.
Parlor Concertina Body Shape
Breedlove’s small body guitar, delivering a surprisingly clear, crisp, loud sound. It’s 12-frets to the body design make it a joy to play. Extensive Sound Optimization™ engineering has resulted in a body shape that has a bigger sound and is more comfortable to play than a traditional parlor.

What Players are Saying
Reviews, Testimonials & Awards
I was looking for a 12 fret guitar with a spruce top and mahogany back, sides and neck with rosewood or ebony fretboard and bridge. When I learned that the only guitars made by my preferred maker that fit these criteria were either discontinued or cost over $6,000 USD, I began looking at reasonably affordable alternatives. There are not an abundant number of guitar makers that offer 12 fret models and even fewer that would have been within my budget. After narrowing my search to three options, I found myself becoming increasingly drawn toward the Performer Concertina in the Organic series. I was especially drawn to the torrefied European spruce top and sustainably sourced, solid woods.
When I discovered an on-line dealer offering this guitar for just under $600 USD, I was compelled to complete the purchase and never regretted a moment since. While I had to set up the instrument to suit my preferred string gauge and playing style, it sounds as good and has the playability and features of similar guitars that might cost several times more. Due to its convenient size and impressive tone, resonance and sustain, it has become my preferred acoustic.
