Curtis L. Peoples, Ph. D., has worked in music for over forty years. He is the Executive Director of the Ross Ragland Theater and Cultural Center in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He is an active musician, a graduate, and a former instructor of the Sound Technology program at South Plains College. Curtis has worked in several recording studios and has been a production manager for many events. He plays live, writes, and records music in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

From 2017 to 2024, Curtis Peoples hosted the NPR Music Crossroads of Texas Radio program on KTTZ 89.1 and KNCH 90.1.

He taught the history of West Texas Music and the History of Texas Music for the Honors College at Texas Tech. He also teaches American Media Studies, US History, and the History of Pacific Northwest Rock and Roll at Oregon Tech in the Humanities and Social Sciences Department. His research centers on music and place.
