Doug Alan Wilcox fell under the sway of music at an early age. From organizing impromptu singing groups as a child with siblings and neighborhood pals, to joining his first professional band while still in high school, he’s always had the passion to create and perform. As an adult, he tried his hand as a solo artist before settling into many years as a front person for bands of various stripes, finally finding his true voice once again as a solo acoustic musician. In his current incarnation, Doug brings singer/songwriter perspective to a seamless marriage of bluesy folk and acoustic soul. Intimate, thought-provoking and on occasion, wryly humorous, Wilcox delivers music that will stick in your head – as well as your heart. Over the years, Doug has provided support for or shared a stage with a diverse cross-section of national musical talent including Peter Mayer, Jen Chaplin, L.J. Booth, Stacey Earle, Pierce Pettis, and Peter Case. “
Passionate and insightful….” “Funky, folky….” “Doug Alan Wilcox has the soul of a poet and the songs to prove it. He immediately became a favorite guest on the Acoustic Highway.” – Barry Graham, Folk music producer / WHRV FM
“Wilcox’s honey soaked vocals can exhibit swagger and occasionally a sadness…..” – Brian Tucker, Bootleg magazine
