Jessica would like to thank her parents for giving her one of the most common and popular names of girls born in the 80′s that are in the entertainment industry. But Jessica’s name is the only thing common about her. Her tagline “…maker of music and bad decisions since 1986″ gives you a hint of what you are in store for at one of her shows or when you listen to her tunes. When you ask Jessica about songwriting she will tell you she strives for honesty which is what you will hear in her lyrics and experience in her stage performance. She wants you to leave her show saying “I feel like I know her and we need to hang out”.
Recognized for her bold vocals, lyrics, and performances, she is a singer/songwriter with a wide range of experience and stage presence to match. Her dedication to songwriting and co-writing has enabled her to participate in the “30A Songwriter’s Festival” and the “Key West Songwriter’s Festival” sharing the stage in Key West with Jason White (writer of “Red Rag Top” – Tim McGraw). Since her move to Nashville in 2011, she is a regular at some of the biggest writer’s nights in town, lately joining Bobby Pinson’s “Sing for your Supper”. You never know who she will share the stage with on Music Row.
Jessica’s music is soulful, Americana-country-rock. Her new acoustic EP, “Lovers and Liars” gives you a taste of the story telling in her songs. If Steven Tyler and Dolly Parton had a love child, it would be Jessica, raucous like Aerosmith with the honesty and grace of Dolly in her soul, adding a little tackiness for good measure. Her voice has been likened to an Americana Joss Stone.
Taking a break from a packed show schedule, in 2010 she released her first full length CD “Raising Cayne”, while writing material for her next release, and hitting a few casting calls (“Dating the Dark”, ABC) along the way. Her latest project will include tunes co-written with hit songwriter, Amanda Williams (Garth Brooks, Beer Run) and Ted Russell Kamp, Producer and bassist for the Shooter Jennings Band. In addition to her own work, Jessica’s gutsy voice can be heard on emerging artist Gary Ray and the Heartwells new CD, “Livin’ the Dream”. She has opened for and/or shared the stage with Brantley Gilbert, David Nail, James Otto, Rose Falcon, Lo Cash Cowboys, Kenny Chesney, Buddy Jewell, and Tonya Watts to name a few.
When you go to one of Jessica’s shows, be prepared. It’s very easy to become involved in her music and her “bad decisions”.
