Local singer-songwriter (and three-time City of Marathon Mayor) John Bartus has released a brand new studio CD, After The Storm. The music is available worldwide on Apple/iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora, Deezer, and nearly wherever you get your music.
The new After The Storm CD was recorded at John’s studio, Radio Active Productions. Inspired by one-man studio efforts from artists like Paul McCartney and Dan Fogelberg, John produced the record, and played all the instruments, and sang all the vocal parts on each song. The result is an Acoustic Americana album with a few Tropical Americana songs that reflect John’s life in the Florida Keys. Find out more at: johnbartus.hearnow.com. The leadoff single, “Blue Zone,” is featured in a new music/lyric video on John’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A06VaAFccmE
The recording of After The Storm started right before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the world. As his live shows were all canceled, John worked on arranging and recording his most recent material. John also started Facebook Live “Social Distancing Concerts” each Friday evening to stay in touch with friends and family. “Those concerts kept us all going for a long while.” John still plays these online shows every Friday on his Facebook page: facebook.com/john.bartus.
John has performed for events large, small, and everything in between since his arrival in the islands in 1984. One of the Florida Keys’ best-known singer-songwriters, John has performed his own style of Tropical Americana music years before the genre got its name. Publisher of Marathon & The Middle Florida Keys Magazine, John also serves on the Marathon City Council and the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Marathon. Catch John at his regular shows in the Florida Keys as well as the upcoming Florida Keys BrewBQ Festival and the Summer Sounds Concert Series for the All Arts Council in Vermont.
