Tim Bertsch is a composer, performer, recording artist, published writer, and music educator based in the Pacific Northwest.

Born into a musical family, he began his formal musical studies at the age of 10 after discovering the guitar.

Tim is a founding member of the rock dynamo Jaded Mary, a longstanding member of the seasoned jazz group H.D. Fusion and soloist in Soulresonance.

Spending decades composing, performing, and recording in multiple musical genres, his versatility and competency on guitar, harp guitar, bass, mandolin, and sitar have made him an in-demand studio musician as well as a sought-after live performer.

Timothy formally studied music composition at Olympic College and earned outstanding soloist awards while performing with the jazz band and vocal jazz ensembles. He has also studied guitar with Larry Coryell and Emily Remeler.

Timothy’s extremely active musical presence and contributions in both the Pacific Northwest music scene and abroad have equated to worldwide exposure and notoriety.

Sharing headlining billing with countless national acts while performing with his various musical projects, Timothy has established himself as a dynamic soloist performing as a featured artist with his solo project Soulresonance at many international festivals including Folklife, The Reno Jazz Festival, The NAMM Show, and Muriel Anderson’s All-Star Harp Guitar Night.

Tim has been featured by Acoustic Guitar Magazine and Classical Guitar Magazine for AG Video Sessions and his instructional writings were published in several musical periodicals including Acoustic Guitar Magazine.

His compositions have had placement on The Discovery Channel and his musical groups continue to receive airplay on the Pacific Northwest’s most popular FM radio stations.

Timothy most recently received international exposure on CNN while performing at The 2020 NAMM Show in California as well as a full radio broadcast interview and live performance on Amsterdam’s Radio Salto 103.3 MHZ whilst on tour in Holland.

Paralleling his composing, performing, recording artist, and publishing endeavors, Bertsch has worked as a dedicated music educator since 1990 opening Sound Academy of Music in 2010.
