Born in Orlando, Florida and having deep Detroit ties, it’s not a surprise that WW’s influences stem from an eclectic musical landscape. Captivated a young age by his fathers music collection, his first musical introductions included Metallica, Kid Rock, and Eminem. His mother, Tresa often played the likes of The Bee Gees and Abba along with Madonna and Christina Aguilera. His first concert attended was the Backstreet Boys at the age of 5 at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida.
Finding his own way, William sets his direct influences in the rock genre from bands such as Seven Mary Three, Bush, Green Day, Guns N’ Roses, Fuel, Creed, Matchbox 20, and Three Doors Down. Teaching himself guitar, he jammed locally in his high school years with different projects, even a 2 year stint as a guitar player with his high school worship team.
Graduating college out of Michigan and playing in bands locally around Detroit, he linked up with his native Florida buddies, the country rockers “OakLee” in 2019 as an official member. Playing venues like the Dallas Bull, Hard Rock Cafe, Ole Red, Zydeco capsuled with playing over 200 acoustic shows all over the south, it’s clear William finds solace in music, at least on the stage. “My approach to music is pretty simple…less is more my book. I’m a pretty simplistic guitar player by choice, and I just really love playing for an audience, playing a good show, and having time for family and friends. I try to keep those values. The rest is just a nice bonus.”
In 2022, William is currently playing guitar with OakLee & Ian Davis. His guitar work appears in numerous recorded songs but live is where you will see him the most. Studio or live? “Live, all day!”
