A Note from Tom Bedell Regarding Coronavirus

My Fellow Musicians,

Here at Two Old Hippies, in Bend, Oregon, it is impossible for us to wrap our heads and our hearts around everything that is swirling around right now. Every day, there are new developments and challenges in protecting our health, our financial well-being, and our ability to love and support one another. We hope you, and your families, are doing as well as can be on all of these fronts.

The broad adoption of social distancing and the efforts each of us are taking to contain the spread of Coronavirus is proving to be an enlightening example of how adversity can bring us all together as a human community.

In Bend, we are doing all we can to keep our offices and workshop safe and sanitized—including rigorous hand-washing and the use of protective gloves. All CoHippies who can work from home are encouraged to do so. Craftspeople who desire to build at our workshop must adhere to the minimum distance zones recommended by our government. We have barred visitors and suppliers from the building. Our hope is to cautiously and responsibly continue to supply the beautiful guitars and mandolins that, with the possibility of long quarantine, many of us will want to spend time with, making music and joy for ourselves and those close to us.

Knowing many music retailers have been forced to close doors during this time, we wish to extend an accommodation. This is not a sales pitch, nor is it the time for that. We hope it is a service that may help you and your local music store. As long as we are able, we will ship, directly to your home, at no additional cost, any in-stock Breedlove, Bedell or Weber instrument. We will need the name of your music store so we can credit the sale through them. It is important to us—to all of us—that we do what we can to protect local businesses and jobs in your community.

Oregon’s Governor issued an Executive Order No. 20-12 today, March 23, which enables us to keep the workshop open, receive supplies and ship instruments. We are following all recommended precautions. Of course, we will be unable to continue this service if there is a mandate to completely shut down or if any of our CoHippies test positive for COVID-19.

If you need anything, or if we can be helpful, please let us know.

Please be safe, stay well and continue to show each other the support and friendship we all deserve not only at these trying moments, but at all times.

Peace, Love & Good Health,

Tom Bedell
