Breedlove artist Katie Garibaldi just released a new Holiday album, Home Sweet Christmas. Above is a music video shot Katie shot in studio. She will be releasing official music videos to accompany this album launch later this month.
Regarding this new album, Garibalid had this to say,” I grew up listening to Christmas music, and it's always been my favorite kind of music. It has this magic that no matter what time of year you hear it, it puts you in a good mood and it also can transport you to the warmest memories of being home with family, at least for me. When I started making music and getting serious about it at a young age, I remember thinking it would be a dream come true to someday write my own Christmas album. But I knew that I would only do it if it came naturally and not forced. Even though I wanted to make a holiday album, I didn't consciously plan to sit down and write it. They songs just happened. I wrote the first of the songs “Tomorrow is Christmas Morning,” which is all about wishing to make it back home in time for Christmas morning to spend it with the one you love, when I was on tour in Nashville last year. I was in my hotel room missing my husband, and I picked up my guitar, and that's what I wrote about. Except, a Christmas themed story came out of my mouth! This was in the middle of September, and it was hot out, so I'm not sure where the holiday inspiration came from, but I just went with it. Since that song, most of the songs I wrote for the next few months happened to be Christmas- or faith-based stories. It was so much fun. In fact, I'd say it was the most fun I've had writing an album so far. All the songs came easily and naturally, and mostly would surprise me because I'd start writing a Christmas song in the spring or something. I knew the universe was telling me it was time to do this album. And just seeing my Christmas album dream come to fruition was pretty exciting. It was a blast to make this record, and I hope people will enjoy the songs on Home Sweet Christmas during any season of the year. “
