Breedlove Donates Custom Guitar to Sisters Folk Festival

Partnering for more than 10 years to bring music education to Sisters, OR

Bend, OR (August 6, 2014) – For more than 10 years Breedlove has been providing a custom guitar to the Sisters Folk Festival to be raffled off to raise funds for the Americana Project.  The Americana Project is an innovative music and arts education program with broad community outreach.  Classes each day at both Sisters High and Middle schools provide opportunities for self-expression in music and the visual arts.  Students learn to play guitar, write songs, perform, record and engineer their music.  Through the Community Luthier program, students learn to build custom guitars and ukuleles.

“The partnership with Breedlove Guitars has been pivotal in growing and developing the Americana Project and Sisters Folk Festival.  From providing affordable guitars for the schools, materials for the luthier program, gear for the Americana Song Academy for youth, and the Breedlove raffle guitar, they have been steadfast and essential supporters,” says Brad Tisdel, Creative Director of the Sisters Folk Festival.

This year, Breedlove will be providing a Legacy Dreadnought with a custom inlay inspired by “Buck.”  Artist Dennis McGregor always makes fun and beautiful posters each year and this one is no different.

“We are very proud of our history helping to support the growth and education of future luthiers and performers with the Americana Project and Sisters Folk Festival.  Having this program is a great asset to Central Oregon and the music industry in general,” says Chris Steele, Director of Marketing at Breedlove Stringed Instruments.  For information on how you can buy raffle tickets to win the guitar and support this program visit https://www.sistersfolkfestival.org/festival-raffles/.

This year’s festival takes place September 5-7, with the “Spotlight Night” (sponsor event) on the 4th, and Breedlove will once again be sponsoring an artist. This year Black Prairie will take the stage playing Village Green Park on Saturday, September 6 at 2:00pm and at Sisters Art Works at 9:15.
