Custom Guitar Feature: Englemann Spruce and Maple Nylon Concert 23897

This custom nylon acoustic guitar was recently completed by the craftsmen in the Custom Shop in Bend, Oregon. The concert body is an ideal body shape platform for a nylon guitar and the cutaway really allows the easy access to the entire fretboard. The maple back and sides contribute to the bright, warm sound of this custom instrument.

About the Concert Body Shape: The Concert is our most popular body shape, favored by players because it is well-balanced, compact, comfortable to play, and offers all the qualities of a great sounding guitar. It generates a wonderfully articulate range of tone with an ample low end that is never boomy, but always felt. About Englemann Spruce: Engelmann spruce is a silky pale spruce, similar in color to European spruce. It responds best to a light touch and light strings. Warm bass response with great projection. Its extreme lightness in weight produces a ringier and more open sound than Sitka spruce. Tonally, it falls between European spruce and cedar. Requires less playing time to open up than European spruce. Vibrates with developed overtones and is “ringier” than Sitka. consistent coloring, its tight grain patterns, and its lightweight. It produces guitar tops that project louder than many other woods, and it is used in extremely high-end guitars. It offers a middle ground between Euro Spruce and Cedar. It plays in very quickly and gives a spruce like treble. It is a softer wood and will yield good basses right away also. Very light in color. About Maple: maple is great for standing out among other instruments. With a powerful fundamental and even harmonics, it is clear and present, but without pronounced peaks and valleys in the harmonic content.
