During their last tour, Eric Tollefson and his band headlined The Triple Door in Seattle, WA. They were joined by Andrew Joslyn and Rebecca Chung Filice of the Passenger String Quartet (Odesza, Dave Bazan, Macklemore). The release is a collection of songs ranging from heart strung ballads to driving Rock n'Roll that embody a show they are capable of performing.
Mastered by Ed Brooks at Resonant Mastering (Pearl Jam, Death Cab for Cutie, Fleet Foxes) the band never expected to have recordings from that night. The cd was handed to Eric after the show burned straight from the board.
Having written with Josiah Johnson from The Head and The Heart, and toured with Donavon Frankenreiter and Rayland Baxter, the band is currently working on a forth coming record set for release in 2019.
Below you can hear the track “Sister Sarah,” one of our favorite tracks in the group. Tollefson remarks, “This is a song I wrote back in 2010. I was listening and playing a lot of Doors at the time. I loved songs that had a shuffle blues groove to them, but also ended elsewhere melodically. I wrote it about a lady losing her faith in humanity at the time. We wouldn’t be anywhere in this world without a Woman’s heart. It’s a plea to not give up on us, and remember there’s good in the world.”
Tollefson plays a custom Breedlove dreadnought and explains, “I could not love my Custom D20 more for playing with a live band. It’s able to cut through the mix when I need it to, either at a softer dynamic or loud dynamic. I recommend anyone playing in a live band setting to pick up a D20. Especially with Cocobolo back and sides.”
