At Breedlove, every day is Earth Day. That’s not a slogan—it’s the compass that guides every decision we make. From sourcing salvaged and individually harvested tonewoods to building instruments that honor the natural world, sustainability isn’t something we celebrate once a year. It’s who we are.
This Earth Day, we’re proud to shine a light on a project that represents the soul of Breedlove: The Black Ram Guitar.
Crafted from a 315-year-old wind-fallen spruce tree in Montana’s Yaak Valley, the Black Ram Guitar is more than an instrument—it’s a voice for a threatened forest. Named after the Black Ram timber sale, a controversial logging project that would clear mature and old-growth trees from one of the last intact ecosystems in the Lower 48, this guitar tells a story the world needs to hear.
In collaboration with Academy Award-winner Jeff Bridges, environmental author Rick Bass, and a coalition of artists and advocates, we helped bring this story to life through a new documentary: All in This Together. The film follows the journey of the Black Ram Guitar—from forest floor to finished masterpiece—and the people fighting to protect the ancient landscape that birthed it.
This Earth Day, we invite you to watch the trailer, listen to the forest, and stand with us in defending wild places.
Because at Breedlove, building a better guitar means building a better future.
